The usual size of Yorkshire terries is about 7-8 inches. However, some of them may be bigger or smaller than this. The normal weight of Yorkshire terriers is 3-7 lbs.

Yorkshire terriers are brave little puppies and will put themselves in the line for you. They are loyal and compassionate while being highly independent around the house. They will investigate all corners of the house. They have high energy levels. It is important to show them that they are a wanted pet and are loved, otherwise they tend to become depressed and also start finding their owner intimidating.

3.      Do Yorkies shed?

No, they don’t really shed as they are covered with hair and not fur. They will lose some hair now and then but will not shed as other breeds do. If you suffer from allergies, they are a good breed to have at your home.

No they do not. And, their grooming takes only a few minutes. It is necessary to be done every now and then to keep their hair long and flowing.

They enjoy cuddling in laps and will often snuggle into your pillows. Shih Tzu make a great companion pets for senior citizens.

No, Shih Tzu come in the category of non-shedders. You may notice a pattern of a year-round light shed which is their natural process of renewing their coat. Shih Tzus are Hypo-Allergenic and will not shed on your clothes, Furniture or Food.

4.      Do they require a lot of grooming?

No, Brushing Once a week is sufficient. You should regularly trim their coat even if you do not have time to brush them regularly. Frequent trimming will keep their coat short and will make them look neat.

5.      Are Shih Tzu good for children?

Shih Tzu are a great companion for kids. However, one needs to be sure that the children are taught the proper handling techniques needed to work well with Shih Tzu. Most of these little puppies work great with children. The Shih Tzu is a very sturdy breed .
